HOW TO TAKE QUALITY PHOTOS WITH A SMARTPHONE

Gone are the times when photos were taken exclusively with cameras. Whether for speed or convenience, today it´s more common to portray an object, person or landscape with the mobile phone. Therefore, here are 11 tips (with a few recommendations) to take better photos with the Smartphone and thus reinvent your social networks.

1. TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE LIGHT

Light is the most important thing when taking a picture. Even if the framing or composition isn´t the best, having good lighting can always help save any image.

2. EYE WITH DETAILS

Looking at the details is a fundamental part and it´s completely your task. Being observant and giving value to each element, such as textures, colors, shadows, lights, expressions, and movements, will take photography to another level.

3. THE IMPORTANCE OF FRAME / COMPOSITION

Find out if what you are going to capture has a good frame, is centered or at a focal point within the rule of thirds. Activating the grid on your iPhone, for example, from the settings, is the best thing you can do to easily capture this rule.

4. EXPERIMENTATION

Dare to experiment with your phone and with the tools you have at hand to modify lights, contrasts or colors. When you take a picture, think about what makes it special, don’t be afraid to approach, bend over or lie down to get the shot what are you looking for.

5. TAKE MORE PHOTOS

Take pictures you want, whatever and whenever you want. If something catches your eye, do it and don’t feel sorry for it, many moments will never be repeated.

6. KNOW YOUR PHONE WELL

This is one of the infallible tips for taking pictures with your Smartphone. Learn to use the tools that the camera app has, such as the exposure box, focus, timer, HDR, Live Photos and don’t be afraid to experiment with the zoom.

7. EXPLORE

Walk a new route to work, go through parks, museums or unknown cities and neighborhoods and you will see that every time you do it you will improve your eye. One of the main sources of inspiration is to discover things that are outside the comfort zone and that changes the perspective.

8. USE APPS

App stores offer an infinite number of options to take and edit photos that can help you improve your shots and find your own style. Snapseed and VSCO are the most commercial ones to modify settings and thus obtain the tones and colors that like in the images.

To further refine the technique, I leave you a few more recommendations, which will help you add several points so that your images are perfect:

9. CLEAN THE LENS

Pass a cloth before taking the picture. This will allow you to better capture the colors. Never do it with your hand, as the skin fat will stain the device.

10. AVOID TAKING PHOTOS WHEN THE SUN IS RIGHT OVER YOUR HEAD

Unless you wish so and be the objective of the image. Remember that this situation makes the shadows of the faces more defined. A good way to get rid of this is to place a sheet or an albanene paper on the object you are going to portray.

11. RESTRICT THE USE OF FLASH

This is if you want to give volume to the photos. Remember that the flash usually tends to flatten images. Better opt for bouncers. These are some of the practical tips to improve the quality of the photos and at the same time establish a market in social networks.
